Whether or not Jennifer Siebel was married to her husband, Gavin Newsom, is an open question. After all, her marriage to the Democratic Party’s 49th lieutenant governor was only short-lived, and she’s not yet divorced from him.
Guilfoyle
During the first two years of Newsom’s career as mayor of San Francisco, Guilfoyle served as the city’s First Lady. Although they were a high-profile couple, they were divorced in 2006. The former First Lady filed for divorce in 2005, citing the couple’s bi-coastal marriage as a reason for the split.
The couple had a son together. Guilfoyle also had a son with Eric Villency, the owner of an interior design firm. Their divorce was finalized in 2009. After their marriage ended, Guilfoyle began dating Donald Trump, Jr., a political adolescent and businessman.
Before the Trumps came to power, the Guilfoyles met when Guilfoyle was working as a prosecutor for the San Francisco Board of Supervisors. They married in 2001. Then, they both moved to the East Coast.
They have four children. In 2010, same-sex marriage became legal in California. Their relationship has been criticized for a long time, but the pair have managed to weather the biggest scandal of their careers.
Newsom
During the trial of Harvey Weinstein, Jennifer Siebel Newsom testified about the sexual encounter that she claims happened between her and the producer. She cried in tears during her testimony.
In an email sent to the producer after the alleged rape, Siebel Newsom asked him to give her advice on how to handle bad press. The emails will be used as evidence during the trial.
During her testimony, Siebel Newsom said that she thought she had been invited to a suite at the Peninsula Hotel. She was at the time not in a relationship with the governor of California. She testified that the invitation came shortly after she met with him. She did not provide further details.
When the defense went into graphic detail about the alleged encounter, Siebel Newsom cried. She was then questioned by the attorney for Weinstein. He pressed her about the incident and when she told her husband about it.
In an essay that she wrote for the Huffington Post in October 2017, Siebel Newsom publicly accused Weinstein of assault. She called on the film producer to be held accountable for his behavior. She also urged more men to speak up about sexual harassment.
Her affair with Ruby Rippey-Tourk
During the fall of 2007, Jennifer Siebel Newsom got into a bit of trouble when she made some comments about the affair her husband had with Ruby Rippey-Tourk. Her statements fueled a fire of chatter inside City Hall. Eventually, she apologised.
The affair between Newsom and Rippey-Tourk happened during Newsom’s time as the mayor of San Francisco. Newsom allegedly had an affair with the wife of one of his closest advisors, Alex Tourk.
When the scandal broke, Newsom resigned and the campaign manager, Alex Tourk, resigned as well. Then in 2007, Newsom’s public apology for his affair with Rippey-Tourk was issued.
At the time, Newsom was dating Siebel. She was a rising producer and filmmaker. She also took classes at the American Conservatory Theater in San Francisco.
In addition, Siebel participated in soccer and tennis. She grew up in the Bay Area suburb of Ross. She graduated with honors from Stanford University, where she studied human biology and Latin American studies. She also took courses in public speaking.
Siebel’s testimony
During Jennifer Siebel Newsom’s testimony in the trial against Harvey Weinstein, she was overcome with emotion at one point. She cried when asked to identify the man she says raped her. The courtroom was filled with sexual assault survivors who came to support the actress.
