Where to See Christmas Lights in Santa Clarita, CA

Whether you are visiting Santa Clarita, CA or living here, you will be impressed by the beautiful Christmas lights. Many neighborhoods around the city will feature a variety of Christmas lights displays that you will not want to miss. Luckily, we have some ideas on where you can go to see the lights in the area.

Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Garden

During the Christmas holiday season, Los Angeles Zoo and Botanical Garden will transform into a magical winter wonderland of festive lights. This year’s LA Zoo Holiday Lights features hand-crafted attractions, musical elements, a shimmering lighted animal parade, and a magical LED light show.

The annual Zoo Lights event is a popular Southern California tradition. Tickets for the event are on sale online now. The event is open from 6-10 p.m. nightly from November 18 to January 22. If you are an LA Zoo member, you can save up to 27% on tickets for nightly visits.

A special VIP experience is available on select nights, which includes access to a private lounge with gourmet hors d’oeuvres, a signature cocktail, and wine. The private lounge is open to guests 21 and over. However, children under the age of two can attend the event for free.

Wakefield Winter Wonderland

Located in the Santa Clarita Valley in California, Wakefield Winter Wonderland is a free and fun neighborhood light display that is worth a visit. It’s a double cul-de-sac street of 41 houses that have been decorated for the holidays.

The holiday lights aren’t just about Christmas, though. There are some interactive elements, such as a mechanical train set, which makes for a fun holiday experience for kids and adults. There’s also an inflatable Santa sitting by the door, and giant candy canes lined up along the sidewalks.

This year, the holiday light display is a bit smaller than in years past. In 2018, there were 41 houses participating. However, some homeowners are taking precautions to avoid crowds.

Canterwood Drive and Ash Court

Luckily, Santa Clarita has many unique neighborhoods with their own special twists. Some neighborhoods even go the extra mile and build a themed block of houses in the process.

For example, you can find a single house with a three bedroom two bath home with a backyard stocked with amenities to match. It’s a win-win in our book. If you’re looking for a place to call home, the Santa Clarita area is an ideal location for your next home. There are numerous subdivisions to choose from, including Twinleaf at Bartram Park, Mallard Cove, Hunters Point at Mandarin and Windermere. If you’re not sure where to start, there are many agents in the area ready to help you find the perfect home for your family.

Clifton Place

Besides a slew of golf courses, Clifton Place is also home to some of the nicest Christmas lights in the area. The quaint little neighborhood is also home to one of the most aesthetically pleasing light displays in the area, thanks to the slew of well lit cul de sacs that wind through the neighborhood. Whether you are looking for a quiet night out or a night on the town, Clifton Place is the place to be. The neighborhood also has a nice central park with plenty of seating for a night of libations and good old fashion socializing. Besides some of the best Christmas lights in the area, the area also boasts a nice selection of parks and trails to get out and about, and plenty of restaurants to keep your palate happy.

Celebrate

Whether you are new to Santa Clarita or a long-time resident, you will find plenty to enjoy during Christmas season. The city hosts numerous events ranging from concerts to tree lightings. This year, the city is introducing a new event to celebrate Christmas lights.

Light Up Main Street is an official holiday kickoff event. This family-friendly event will take place on November 20. The event will feature activities including snowfall, snow pits, pictures with Santa, and shopping. Guests will also be able to enjoy arts and crafts tables lined along the street.

The East Acacia Avenue Christmas Light Show will start at 7 pm. The lights will be on for a total of five nights. Guests can also take a free shuttle from Poway Adult School.

Eggstravaganza

During the holiday season, Santa Clarita has many family-friendly events to choose from. The most popular of these events is the Easter Eggstravaganza, which includes an Easter Egg Hunt, a live band, games, food, and a free pancake breakfast sponsored by the Noon Lions.

In addition to the Eggstravaganza, the city of Santa Clarita offers other family-friendly activities such as Christmas parades, Festival of Trees, “snow days”, and more. The annual Christmas Tree Lighting ceremony takes place in Old Town Newhall, where the town is lit up with lights.

The Kiwanis Club of Santa Clarita hosts an annual Family Fun Day, complete with an Easter Egg Hunt and vendor booths. The event is free to the public and includes a variety of activities, including an egg run, a sack race, crafts, and more.
