Early life
During his early life, Juan Toscano was a basketball player and an athlete. He was born on April 10, 1993 in Oakland, California. His mother is Mexican American and his father is African American. He also played for Marquette University, the Golden State Warriors, and the Los Angeles Lakers.
Juan Toscano is now a backup forward for the Golden State Warriors. He also plays for Mexico’s national team under the name Juan Toscano. He earned opportunities to play in Mexico, and was named the league MVP. His career-high of 16 points against the New Orleans Pelicans came in 2020. He also appeared in four NBA Finals games.
Toscano-Anderson grew up in East Oakland, California. He started playing basketball at age eight. He attended Castro Valley High School and led the team to the Northern California Division I title game. He averaged two points and three rebounds per game during his freshman year. Throughout his career, Juan Toscano’s been part of the Golden State Warriors’ rotation. But the 29-year-old native of Oakland, California, was given the chance to play for the Lakers in the offseason. He signed a one-year minimum contract with the Lakers.
Before he was drafted, Toscano had spent a few years playing professionally in Argentina, Mexico, Venezuela, and Argentina. He played for the Mexican national team in the FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournament in 2016. He played for the Warriors’ G-League affiliate, the Santa Cruz Warriors, in the 2018-19 season. In addition, he starred at the Warriors’ youth camp.
Toscano averaged 4.1 points and 2.4 rebounds in 13.6 minutes per game during the regular season. He averaged 4.7 assists and 5.9 rebounds in the final month of the season. But he did not see any action during the Warriors’ run to the NBA Finals.

He played for the Fuerza Regia de Monterrey and Soles de Mexicali, two of the top professional basketball teams in Mexico. He became the MVP of the Liga Nacional de Baloncesto Profesional, or LNBP, a league filled with players from Mexico and the surrounding countries. He also won two championships.
He received a scholarship to Marquette University. He averaged 3.8 points per game while he was a member of the Golden Eagles. In addition to his stellar play, Toscano also earned a spot on the Mexican national team.
He was not picked in the NBA draft, but he was signed to a two-way contract with the Golden State Warriors. He has played 73 games for the Warriors this season. Then he played in the G League with the Santa Cruz Warriors, an affiliate of the Golden State Warriors.
